Here is a description of all the Actives in this new Anti-Aging
formula:
Collagen is very popular in skin care formulations for its
great hydration potential and its ability to bind and retain many times its weight in water. This water-binding and retention
ability makes collagen effective for use in skin moisturizers as a skin protecting agent. And it does not leave a feeling
of tackiness or dryness. As a film former, collagen aids in reducing natural moisture loss, thereby helping hydrate the skin
and making it extremely moisturizing with excellent properties. It enhances the humectancy of this topical product, contributes
sheen, builds viscosity, and leaves the skin smooth and soft. It has been very popular in cosmetic formulations for over 20
years.
Collagen is also considered an anti-irritant. Collagen does
not cause allergic reactions when used on the skin. This is one of the most effective proteins available to cosmetic formulators.
Collagen amino acids have a higher moisture-binding capacity
than collagen alone, thereby improving the moisturizing efficacy. Collagen amino acid is a mixture of amino acids resulting
from the complete hydrolysis of collagen. An excellent source of collagen replacement to replenish collagen loss during the
natural aging process.
Sodium PCA is a high-performance humectant due to its moisture-binding
ability. It is derived from amino acids. Sodium PCA also exists naturally in the skin as a component of the natural moisturizing
factor. It is considered a non-comedogenic, non-allergenic raw material recommended for dry, delicate, and sensitive skins.
Potassium Lactate exhibits strong anti-microbial and humectant
properties. Used in skin care products in order to provide additional moisturizing and skin conditioning, especially under
dry conditions.
Quaternium-79 (Hydrolized Soy Protein), a cationic conditioning
agent born of Virgin Palm Oil. Virgin Palm Oil contains a host of skin benefits, including unrivalled antioxidant properties
due to its unmatched content of Tocotrienols, an antioxidant several times stronger than tocopherols (Vit. E). The Quaternium-79
is cationic (positively charged) so that it is more substantive (drawn to) the anionic (negatively charged) skin, and in fact
is drawn most to the areas that need it most.
Soy is an awesome source of Isoflavones. The role of isoflavones
is widely appreciated and is currently the subject of intense research. Isoflavones appear to protect the skin against hormone-related
aging, such as in menopause. And isoflavones can have estrogenic activity, for instance if during menopause the body's natural
level of estrogen drops, isoflavones can compensate by binding to the same receptor sites. As we age, our hormone levels drop
and our skin, the biggest organ, shows the results. Hydrolyzed Soy Protein helps bring back a youthful radiance.
Roman Chamomile Extract used in skin care products for its
anti-inflammatory properties. Chamomile soothes irritated skin and reduces redness and swelling due to rashes or other irritations.
Cornflower Extract is considered beneficial for normal skin products designed for
use around the eyes. Healing properties are attributed to cornflower extract. Important constituents include gentiopricrin,
erythrocentaurine, nicotinic acid compounds, essential oil, and oleanolic acid.
Cucumber Extract is credited with moisture binding, moisture-regulating, tightening,
anti-itching, refreshing, softening, soothing, astringent, and anti-inflammatory properties. It contains amino acids and organic
acids that are claimed to strengthen the skin’s acid mantle. It is also effective as a tightening refresher. Important
constituents include minerals, mucins, and amino acids.
Green Tea Extract is a powerful antioxidant due to its catechin
content. In clinical studies, green tea has demonstrated an ability to prevent or at least postpone the onset of skin damage.
This is attributed to the catechine component’s ability to penetrate into a cell, thereby protecting the cell from free
radicals and associated damage.
Because of its high antioxidant properties, green tea is usually
incorporated into anti-aging formulations. Additionally, it has excellent anti-inflammatory and antibacterial qualities. When
applied topically, it can tone the skin and reduce swelling. This great extract helps rejuvenate the skin, prevent damage
from the sun and promotes elasticity.
Witch Hazel Extract is traditionally used in topical treatment
of burns, sunburns, skin irritation, insect bites, and bruises. It is credited with anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties.
It is often used for its anti-itching, softening, and emollient properties. In addition, Witch Hazel is found effective against
free radicals. It apparently counters the effects of UVA by its antifree radical activity while acting as a UVA and UVB absorber.
Ideal applications for Witch Hazel are preparations that strive to regenerate overstrained skin.
Vegetable
Glycerin has a high humectancy (affinity for water), solvency, viscosity. Glycerin helps the skin remain moisturized by drawing
moisture to it.
Dead Sea Minerals: Bromides and Iodine are present in the Dead
Sea, including other minerals such as Magnesium, Sodium, Calcium and Potassium. All these minerals work together as regulators
of cell activity and daily functioning, and stabilizing fluid levels in the body.
